of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao On Friday, it was decided that the state government would make arrangements to buy Yasangi jowar crop grown in the state by giving support price. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister KCR, the state government appointed Mark Fed as the state nodal agency and issued an order to buy the sorghum (hybrid) crop grown in the Yasangi season in the year 2022-23 by giving support price. Mark Fed’s MD has been ordered to take appropriate action.
The state government will give a bank guarantee of Rs 2 19.92 crore to buy a total of 65,494 metric tonnes of jowar harvested during the Yasangi season. This decision of Chief Minister KCR will benefit about one lakh farmers who have planted jowar crop across the state especially in Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Narayanpet and Gadwal districts.
Earlier, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao had said that the farmers were relieved that the state government would buy and pay for the same amount of paddy stock weakened by the paddy crop which was ruined due to rain. Telangana is the only state in the country which is buying every single grain of paddy from the farmers. During the meeting, officials of the Agriculture Department had presented an estimate of crop damage due to heavy rains and hailstorm in the state.
