On the first day i.e. Monday (20 November), the Indian stock market opened with a slight gain. In today’s trading, BSE Sensex opened up by about 23 points at 65,818. NSE’s Nifty opened 8 points higher at 19,740.

How was the market in pre-open?

The stock market appeared completely flat in the pre-opening. BSE Sensex was trading 5.17 points down at 65789 and NSE Nifty was trading at 19731 with a slight gain of 0.15 points.

14 out of 30 Sensex stocks are on the rise and are in the green. There is a decline in 16 shares. Top Sensex stocks were HCL up 1.10 per cent and NTPC up 0.85 per cent. TCS was up by 0.38 percent and Tata Motors was up by 0.37 percent. Wipro is trading with a gain of 0.34 percent.

How is the picture of Nifty?

Out of 50 stocks on NSE Nifty, 27 are rising and 23 are declining. Top gainers on Nifty include Dvini Labs 1.49 per cent, Apollo Hospitals 1.40 per cent, Coal India 1.20 per cent, HCL Tech 1.11 per cent and Hindalco. 0.93 percent. Declining stocks included Axis Bank down 0.77 per cent, M&M down 0.66 per cent, Asian Paints down 0.64 per cent, Nestle Industries down 0.62 per cent and Kotak Mahindra Bank down 0.56 per cent.
