Gandhinagar, May 12 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to assess the current status of various ongoing initiatives in Gujarat on Friday. An official gave this information on Thursday.
The visit will also provide an opportunity to PM Modi to interact directly with GIFT IFSC representatives, to understand their operational experiences and future aspirations within GIFT City.
A special feature of this visit is that PM Modi himself will hand over the keys to the real owners of the houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The Prime Minister’s visit will also include the inauguration and foundation stone laying of several rural and urban PMAY initiatives, as well as his participation in house warming ceremonies of approximately 19,000 newly constructed houses under the PMAY scheme.
During this program, PM Modi will give the keys of the house to the lucky beneficiaries. The total investment on these mixed projects is around Rs 1,950 crore.
During his stay in Gandhinagar, PM Modi will launch and inaugurate development projects worth an estimated Rs 2,450 crore.
These projects are spread across various departments, such as urban development, water supply, road and transport, and mines and minerals.
The list of projects to be inaugurated include augmentation of multi-rural drinking water supply schemes in Banaskantha district, a new river bridge in Ahmedabad, an upgraded drainage collection network at Naroda GIDC, state-of-the-art sewage treatment plants at Mehsana and Ahmedabad, and one at Dahegam. There is a modern auditorium.
Foundation stones for future projects such as a bulk pipeline venture in Junagadh district, augmentation of water supply schemes in Gandhinagar district, construction of new flyover bridges, a novel water distribution station and several town planning roads will be laid during the Prime Minister’s visit.
PM Modi will also participate in the 29th biennial conference of All India Primary Teachers Federation, All India Education Association.
The theme of this conference is Teacher Transformation at the Center of Education.
