Sometimes the company or the owners have to bear the damages due to the fault of the employees. Something similar has been seen with Tata Group’s airline Air India. DGCA has imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on Air India for violating the rules. During the Dubai-Delhi flight, the pilot had allowed his female friend to enter the cockpit. Which is being called a big lapse in security. After which aviation watchdog DGCA had earlier issued a show cause notice to Air India CEO Campbell Wilson for the airline’s lapse in reporting the incident.

DGCA said that the commanding pilot of the flight allowed an Air India employee traveling as a passenger to enter the cockpit during cruise in violation of DGCA rules. DGCA said that a fine of Rs 30 lakh has been imposed on Air India for not resolving the security issue promptly and effectively. The incident took place on February 27 this year, when a member of the cabin crew lodged a complaint with the DGCA.

Earlier in the PTI report, sources were quoted as saying that information about the incident was “given to Campbell and Donohoe by confidential mail on March 3. The first investigation by DGCA was done on 21 April, while Air India had not done any investigation before this. After investigation, the DGCA has also suspended the pilot’s license for three months for abusing its authority. Meanwhile, the co-pilot has been warned for not stopping the violation.
