Mahindra Thar 5-door is one of the most talked about SUVs in the country right now. The new Thar has been in the works for a while now and over the past few months, the SUV has been spied testing on Indian roads several times. While the company hasn’t officially revealed anything about the new Mahindra Thar, a new report in media reports has indicated a possible launch date for the Mahindra Thar 5-door.
As per the report, the new Mahindra Thar 5-door will debut on August 15, 2023. Notably, the current 3-door Mahindra Thar also debuted on Independence Day. Mahindra Thar has a massive fan following in the country and buyers have to wait a long time to get delivery of the SUV.
Let us tell you that the company also launched an affordable RWD 4X2 variant of Thar earlier this year. It was expected that the Thar brand would be a hit in India after the introduction of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny but that is not the case.
When it comes to the Mahindra Thar 5-Door, the SUV will retain the boxy shape with tall pillars. The front and rear-end of the vehicle are believed to be similar to the current Thar. However, it will get longer rear doors and a stretched wheelbase to offer a more spacious cabin. It is believed that new alloy wheels can also be given in this SUV. Under the hood, the car is said to carry the same 2.2L diesel and 2.0L petrol engines.
